Hi, I’m Yafei, a Master of Philosophy candidate at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), supervised by Dr. Yang Song and Prof. Erik Meijering.
My research primarily focuses on Remote Sensing Change Detection (CD). I am particularly interested in addressing the data scarcity challenge in remote sensing by leveraging Image-to-Image (I2I) translation and Generative Models (GANs/Diffusion) to produce high-quality synthetic data. By bridging the synthetic-real domain gap, my work aims to enhance the robustness of change detection frameworks under supervised and semi-supervised settings.
Currently, my research interests extend to:
Synthetic Data Generation & Refinement: Developing semantics-preserving models for realistic data augmentation.
Low-shot Learning: Improving model generalization with limited labeled samples.
Multimodal Learning: Exploring the integration of heterogeneous data sources for more accurate Earth observation.
My recent work has been published at ICASSP 2025 and submitted to the International Journal of Applied Earth Observation and Geoinformation. At UNSW, I also serve as a Research Assistant working on talking head generation and a Tutor for Applied Artificial Intelligence (COMP9418).
